Standing Wave Pattern and Distribution of Currents in Resonator Arrays for Wireless Power Transfer

The possibility of increasing the transmission efficiency in mid-range wireless power transfer (WPT) applications can be achieved by inserting resonant relay coils between transmitting and receiving sides device, forming an array magnetically coupled circuits, over which a receiver placed. This is very cheap solution for improving performance WPT apparatus, even if complexity system increases, requiring complete detailed investigation smart design control apparatus. presented study investigates current distribution array, revealed strong peaks magnitude depending on load position. analysis carried out with line (TL) theory it performed different positions receiver, as well conditions. Furthermore, real application considered discussed, includes presence converter supply battery charging load. Each circuit resonates at 150 kHz whole apparatus capable to transmit up 1 kW around 70%. theoretical results have been validated experimental measurements.
